Launch of the iPhone 3GS
Following the original iPhone in 2007 and the updated 3G model in July 2008, the iPhone 3GS was released in June 2009 and as well as adding some funky new features - most notably the built-in compass - it addressed some of the criticisms levelled at the previous models. These included quality of camera, lack of video recording and relatively simple capabilities like copying and pasting text. The 3GS has been widely hailed as a success due to these improvements and following a few months of exclusivity that remained on the O2 network is now available on Orange in the UK, with Vodafone due to follow in early 2010.
